Christmas Dinner

We had Christmas Dinner over at our place last night.  It was a good time.  You can check out some of the other random pictures in the events section.  Yow-Yow got a new acoustic, electric bass guitar, and Travis split his pants.  Needless to say we had way more food than we knew what to do with: 7kg full leg of ham, mashed potatoes, salad, beet & green been salad, coleslaw, at least 3 types of desserts, and lots of alcohol.  It was a good time had by all.

I’ve added a new feature, and this is something that I’ve been wanting for awhile.  You may have noticed up in the top, there is a new cart menu item.  This will only be used for select pictures (and I am working on getting a few of the old ones setup with it), but this is the first official picture that can be purchased.  I’ve tested it out a bit, but I’m sure there may be a few glitches along the way.  There are also a few updates I’ll be ironing out along the way, so there may be a few changes.  Thanks!

Lemon

Well, it has officially been one year in Australia as of tomorrow.  Looking back, it has been an interesting year.  Not having snow, or any day even remotely close to snowing was definitely a plus.  However, it is hard being this far away from family.

I’ll hoping to have a post here shortly about the breakdown of things here in Australia so far.  However, in the meantime, here’s a picture of a (of MANY) lemon on the tree in our backyard.  Today was a gorgeous and clear day, and I’ve been wanting to get the combo of green, yellow, and blue for awhile now.  Enjoy.

St Regis Kauai

That’s right, we’re heading back!  I earned another 6 free stays this year (should’ve been a lot more, but so it goes), and we are going to use them all prior to heading to Australia.  It will be nice and relaxing, especially after dealing with all the moving and everything else.  I can’t wait!

Things are progressing pretty well.  We are still out selling stuff, to get rid of everything we don’t want.  Movers have been booked, and we have our one-way plane tickets (first class the whole way!).

I’ve got a blog post started on the whole process.  It’s a pain, but I know it will be worth it!

Tomatoes

Still very busy as I type this, which is why I haven’t updated in awhile.  Between work, scoping out movers, getting Kobe figured out, and everything else that comes with moving to Australia, I really haven’t had time to update this at all.

Well, here you go.  I’m not a huge fan of the picture, probably because the focus isn’t great, but it is better than nothing and was in the queue.

As we go through the Move more, I’m hoping to get better use out of the blog posting.  It seems to take less time to throw items up there, but we’ll see.  I definitely want to keep that going, especially after we get there.

Oranges

I’m digging back in some of the archives already.  I think I have a fairly repeatable process with Lightroom, Director, and WordPress setup.  However, I only started doing all that workflow within the 6-9 months.  That means I have 5+ years of some fairly good images that I can slowly go through.  The downside, is it takes awhile to browse those images as they aren’t rated and organized quite as well.  I guess that is part of the fun, eh?  And since I seem adverse to taking new pictures, this is currently the only way.

Anyways, this is from my first trip to Paris, back when I proposed to Yow-Yow.  I noticed I have a lot of really good pictures from then and want to get them put up.  Specifically, this image is from the Rue Mouffetard Market in the 5th Arr.  If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it.  I have another picture of the rotisserie chickens dripping their deliciousness into potatoes, but it didn’t really turn out.  It’s all good stuff there.

Breakfast

Yum!  This is by far one of the best breakfasts ever!  I love a nice fresh grapefruit in the morning.  I get mine from Stanley’s, where do you get yours?

I don’t know for sure, but this could be the last picture, at least for quite awhile.  I think I just lost all motivation.

Gift Stash

Here’s a collection of the gifts I have to bring up to MI with me tomorrow.  Granted, it’s not all of them, since I believe something else arrived at my parents place already.

Not the best picture, but, meh, the lighting conditions suck in my room.

Metallic Wreath

Walking through the West Loop, there’s a row of townhouses that each had wreath out front on the door. Some of them were nice and natural looking, and some of them were awful. You can decide which category this one falls into.

And happy birthday Erin!  Welcome to finally being old like me.

Pies

Yum, pumpkin pies.  What is Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie?  Anyways, these are the two that my Mom made and were cooling.  Needless to say, they, just like all the other food we had, were delicious.  I hope every ones Turkey Day was a good one!

Lost

On one of my walking trips through Chicago, this earring caught my eye shining in the sun.  More than likely someone dropped it the previous night and another person hung it on the wall there.
