Marina Bay

Holy crappers, it has been awhile since I have updated this space.  Since this site was driven off the backend located at rebelpeon.com, they were both having similar issues.  You may have noticed those issues when trying to browse off the homepage before and it going nowhere but errors.

The good news is that I’ve got the site back up and functioning, and also on WordPress instead of ExpressionEngine.  I wasn’t a fan of where ExpressionEngine was going with their new versions, and wasn’t willing to pay to follow that direction.  WP gives me what I need in a much better package.  The downside is that I need to completely re-learn how to design a page again.  However, I seem to like the new theme.  There may be a few more tweaks to the site, as I’m thinking I’ll redo the categories and tags, but otherwise welcome back!

Anyways, about the image.  For those of you not in the loop, I have been traveling to Singapore a lot (flying out again in 4 days).  This is part of the revamped Marina Bay area.  In the foreground you have the double-helix bridge, and in the background is the massive Marina Bay Sands Complex (a S$5B casino, hotel, and shopping mall complex).

The craziest thing is that not more than 30 years ago (and probably less) that building would have been built right in the middle of the the Singapore Marina.  They have done so much land reclamation it is insane.

Here’s to more updates as I continue my travels through Asia/Pacific!
