Dusk

Enjoying the sunset over Lake Leelanau.  Talk about a great time to go water skiing, just look at how flat the water is.  Looking back, I really should’ve tried to compose this picture using HDR.  Oh well, maybe next time.

Serene

Every time I look at this picture I wish I was there again.  There are so many fond memories of my grandparent’s house up North.  It makes me want to kick off my shoes, put on a sweatshirt and jeans, and just walk around barefoot with a slight dew on the ground.  Granted, I don’t believe the weather was like that when I was up there and took the picture.

Man am I a sucker for the rich greens and blues.

Tunnels of Light

Along the I&M Canal, there once stood a massive steel mill in Joliet.  Now, there is little that remains but the overgrown ruins.  Near one of the old blast furnaces there’s two tunnels under an inclined ramp.  This is one of the areas that the weeds seem to prosper because of the smaller amounts of soil contamination.

I was disappointed that I was only able to get a few good images here.  The neutral colors and lack of good light wreaked havoc on my camera as all the images lacked any depth or feeling.  This was about the only one, and it works because of the light play on both the new and old.
