Prince of Wales Hotel

This was the final Hotel that we stayed at on the Canada trip:  the Prince of Wales Hotel.  We were there the last weekend they were staying open for the year, so the atmosphere was interesting.  Needless to say, there was a lot of alcohol consumed, just because they were going to throw it out otherwise.  It also helped that the bartenders were all in their young 20’s, but still, good times.

Cameron Lake

This is actually two images stitched together using Autostitch.  I was actually amazed at how well it worked, especially after how disappointed I was with Photoshop’s stitching software.

I love the reflection with this one, along with being able to see in the water.

This was taken on the way back from Crypt Lake.  If I were to look down right now, it was about a 1500 ft drop about straight down.  Some of the views were just spectacular.  Looking out the window now, it makes me want to go back.

To compliment yesterday’s image, I thought I’d throw up something with a bit more contrast.  This is actually the lake we were hiking to on Monday’s entry.  I couldn’t believe how clear and colorful the lake was.  It’s amazing what it’s like when no one is around to disturb the water.

Dead Tree

I really loved the stark white of the dead tree to the green and blue backgrounds.  However, once I opened it up in Photoshop, the contrast was almost too much.  Yay to de-saturation.

Oh, and this tree most likely died because of hikers disturbing the ground around it.  They had actually closed down some parts of the Waterton Park area because of this.  Sad really.

Yeah, I’m still working on the Canada trip pictures.  There were just so many good ones, and I’ve been so incredibly lazy.  This is on the way to Crypt Lake.  The guy on the left is my Dad, and the other guy is someone we met on the trail.  This was the part of the trail that would probably not be allowed in the US, because of the liability.

Lee and Benita

Look at me go, two in a row!  This is basically the same shot as yesterday, only with my parents in it and cropped differently.  There was too much brightness from the sky that I couldn’t deal with, so I just cut it out.  Easy!

Lake Louise

Holy crap, I’m actually posting an image 🙂  Yes, I know it’s been awhile, but I’ve been incredibly busy, and my photoshop machine has been in pieces as I built my new server (nerd talk!).  Hopefully, I’ll get a little better about actually posting now, especially since I should have some extra.  Hopefully, but we’ll see.

Anyways, this is still from the Canada trip.  I’ve got a ton of pictures from there that I want to post, but haven’t yet.  It’s amazing how many good shots I have, now to just start plowing through them and posting them.  And man, the rocky skyline makes it a lot harder to do things than a nice, straight horizon.

Banff

Look at this, two days in a row.  I think I need to post more often, just because my dad keeps complaining that I’m not updating enough.  🙂  Anyways, this is another image from the Canada vacation.  I’ve got a lot more, just need to find some time to actually process them.

It’s been awhile again.  I know it’s getting old, but I’ve been busy, and lazy.  Hopefully I’ll have a few more pics up this week.  I really love the clouds in this one.
