Green Bricks

This week is going to be a high contrast week I think.  I’ve got quite a few images from a few weeks ago, plus some that I took yesterday, that will fit into this quite well.

On another note, man is it hard to get outside when it’s cold.  It takes a whole lot to get me outside of the warm apartment, bundle up, and brave the wind.  Thankfully yesterday was a bit warmer than the previous week, so it wasn’t horrible.  However, I still had a numb had when I came back inside.  I hope my pain is worth it though.

No Admittance

This image was actually taken the same day as Restricted, just on a different part of the barricade between the park at Navy Pier and the unknown pier next to it. I really like the contrast in this shot along with the blue sky and darker blue water in the background.

Dilapidated Tree

How this tree stays alive, I have no idea.  That was it too, it wasn’t like it was the very top or anything that’s basically the whole tree.  And it’s not like it was winter time either, since this is yet another St Petersburg image.  It’s actually sort of creepy as sparce as it is.

Natural

Oh, another picture of a palm tree.  Well, at least this isn’t the whole tree, and instead just the trunk.  It’s amazing how you can see how these trees grow.  And check out some of the barbs on those leaves.  They look pretty deadly.

Shelves

I really didn’t know what to call this one as it is actually just trim running along one of the buildings on UIC’s campus.  This took forever to get lined up correctly.  I probably looked like a moron sitting out there.

landscape

Tampa Bay

This is the view from a bridge overlooking one of the inlets to Tampa Bay.  What’s funny is on the horizon you can barely see little bumps.  Those are actually industrial buildings on the far side of the bay.  Regardless, talk about serene and peaceful.

I should be getting some fresh pictures soon, plus in January I’ll be heading out to AZ, so that should get me some new shots.  However, I have a lot of older shots that I still want to put up here.  Oh well, it’s not like they’re going anywhere.  I’m sure they’ll make it up some week when I’m too lazy to take pictures of anything.

city

Restricted

This is an older image taken this summer at Navy Pier.  I don’t remember what the pier is next to Navy Pier, but it’s definitely off limits to pretty much everyone, just as this sign says.  I don’t know about you, but signs like this just make me want to find out even more.

Dark Trunk

This week I’m hoping to have all the pictures up early the day they should be.  Hopefully I won’t be scrounging around after I wake up to upload an image.  Hopefully.

Anyways, I was hoping to pull some more detail out of this one, as it’s very dark.  However, I still like the composition and the “dangly things” in the background.  This is definitely an image I wish I had a tripod for, to get some HDR lovin’, but alas not yet.  I would definitely recommend the “dark” setting on the site for this one.

Yellow Tape

I’m really digging the high contrast shots I’ve been taking lately.  I love the pop that all the colors have.  What do you think?

Fuzzy Trunk

This is yet another image from St Petersburg that I really enjoy.

Hopefully today or tomorrow I’ll venture outside and get some Chicago under snow pictures.  It’s the first “big” one of the year.  The way people were hyping it before it hit, I basically thought we were all going to die.  Needless to say, that didn’t happen, but the office was a lot quieter than normal.  Babies!
