Rail Ties

The railroads that run through the city of Chicago have fascinated me ever since I moved here.  They seem to tie the city to another time.  However, with everyone that still relies on these lines, it makes me glad that I don’t live somewhere like LA.

This picture was taken just a few blocks from my house and is one of the main lines that the suburban commuters arrive on.  I’m hoping to add more industrial pictures to this site, since it seems to be everywhere around.

Ice Thistle

This is a rare type of thistle that my grandma has growing in her garden.  It reminds me of a prop to a movie set or something along those lines.  The rich blues against the green background really make it stand out for me.

Brides Maids

This was from back at Michael and Jessica’s wedding.  I’m trying to go through a lot of my older pictures and make them more “aaron spruit (.com)” worthy and this was one that I always liked.  However, there were a few things about it that simply bothered me.  Through what I’ve learned the past 6 months, I think I was able to adjust it more to my liking.

Unfortunately, the title of this post isn’t entirely correct.  The lady in the foreground was actually one of the Maids of Honor.  Hopefully I’ll be able to master portrait photography a little bit more after completing the class I’m currently in.
